Suzanne McKie QC was interviewed on BBC News at Six today regarding singer Lily Allen, who has publicly stated that her record label (Warner Music) failed to take action after she informed them that she was sexually assaulted by an industry figure.
Allen did not report the incident to the police. The BBC confirmed that this is not uncommon for victims of sexual assault. Suzanne commented on how perpetrators are often perceived as very powerful, and that victims will struggle to find people to support them in that industry.
BBC News also published an article on the matter.
